This very dark purple, almost dark maroon, or even almost black seaweed looks like a flower, we think. Perhaps a rose or a carnation? Well, it's not a flower, but some seaweed on rocks at the beach near Gonubie in East London. There are always interesting forms of marine life to photograph down at the seaside!
